Claude Monet (1840-1926)

Claude Monet Claude Monet was a founder of the French impressionist art movement, which was named after his painting Impression, Sunrise. Monet is famous for painting the effects of natural light and experimenting new techniques. Besides painting landscapes Monet was obsessed by water lilies and made a series of them.
