Joseph Mallord William Turner Joseph Mallord William Turner was a British art painter who is seen as one of the greatest landscape artists. Besides landscapes at land Turner mostly painted marine art, showing ships at sea. One of his masterpieces is The Fighting Temeraire which was voted as Britain's greatest painting in a poll organized by the BBC.
